The Flower Game: A Junior Narrative Illustration by Laurel Haspert (2013)
My illustration is meant to show the thoughts going through Damian's head whenever he thinks of his sister. It's supposed to be like when you take a flower and play the he-loves-me-he-loves-me-not game except this flower, representing his sister Eva, has petals that are messages he think Eva's trying to tell him. For this piece I had to use many different layers to arrange the petals each individually. on top of that I also created designs in the typography so that the petals would all look unique. The font that I used was made to create a fabric like look to give my entire picture a more homey, childish feel to it.
